Fire Station Field Trip

During Fire Prevention Week we took a field trip to the Sartell-LeSauk Fire Station. Before we went we learned a lot about fire safety, fire trucks, and firefighters.

We got to spray water from the fire hose!

We got to see all different kinds of trucks.

They even have a boat to use on the river.

This is the rescue truck. It can be called to accidents because it has the "Jaws of Life".

We saw Sparky the Fire Dog!
We practiced Stop, Drop, and Roll!

October Visitor Day

Many people participated in our first "Visitor Day" of the 2008-09 school year. We completed many pumpkin activities.

We read pumpkin stories and drew about our favorite part!

We read a pumpkin poem and illustrated our own.

We painted pumpkins and used scrapers to make different textures.

We measured around pumpkins.

We measured how tall.

Did the pumpkin sink or float?

We practiced sight words-I, see, the, a by reading books, sentences, and saying a scarecrow chant.

Our next "Visitor Day"will be Tuesday, November 25th from 9:45-10:45 am. Hope to see you!
